Weekly Photo Challenge: Renewal

Living plant life emerging in a forest devastated by fire is nature’s renewal.

Beargrass ~ Glacier National Park, Montana

This photo was taken in the summer of 2010 near (or possibly still within) Glacier National Park in Montana.  We spent several nights camping in the Park and were driving to Great Falls, Montana when I pulled off the highway to take this photograph.  I have always enjoyed the contrast between the white beargrass and the stark forest surrounding them.  It is a reminder of the resilience of our world.

This post was in response to the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge, with this week’s theme of “Renewal.”  Everyone is welcome to join in the Challenge, with further details on how to participate found here.

Ciao! ~ Kat

    • The Tuscan countryside is made for renewal! I had not seen beargrass before our camping trip to Glacier National Park, either, and they happened to be blooming while we were there. Such an interesting flower! ~ Kat

    • Grazie! Yes, a scene from the Chianti countryside as we made our way back from Panzano to Siena. I love reminding myself of the need to return again some day! ~ Kat

  2. Very nice, Ms. Kat! I was just over there at the Weekly Photo challenge posting my own response and saw YOURS! So hopped, skipped and jumped over to truly admire this. I like that contrast and resilience, too.
