Give to the Max Day ~ November 15

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” ~ Winston Churchill

During this season of Thanksgiving, it seems appropriate to not only reflect on our blessings but also give back where and when we can.  For this week’s Reflection of Gratitude, I wanted to remind those who are able to give financially, that today is “Give to the Max” Day to help raise funds for Minnesota nonprofits.  While the sun has set on Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes for today, you still have another six hours left to help organizations raise money, secure matching grants and compete for additional dollars!  Support your favorite nonprofit organization by going to this link.  As of 5:00 p.m. CST, total donations for all organizations today through GiveMN.org totaled $11 million.  That is a lot of giving for which to be thankful!

Speaking of gratitude and giving, the month is only half done, so plenty of time to join in my November challenge to share your blessings in condensed format rather than doling them out one by one — no need to ration them daily; give generously and post the whole month all in one fell swoop!  For more details on how to participate in the challenge of “30 Days of Blessings, Condensed,” click here).

Ciao! ~ Kat

  1. A timely post, even for those of us further away. Today (the 16th) is Children in Need in the UK, a day of charity events in aid of children’s charities. People spend the day selling cakes, dressing up, doing silly challenges and raising money. In the evening, we are treated (?) to several hours of celebrities making fools of themselves on TV to raise more money. It is on right now in the background as I read your post.

    • Between Facebook updates, email reminders, MPR/radio plugs, I can’t imagine anyone electronically connected one way or another in Minnesota today didn’t hear about it (so I am feeling somewhat redundant, but c’est la vie)! Some great matching grant and “random” participation bonus opportunities connected with the event. ~ Kat
