Weekly Photo Challenge: Color

Oh, what a welcome theme this is, as Northern Minnesota is blanketed with snow yet again today, and the colors outside continue to be multi-layered grays, dull browns, and white.  Yellow is such a cheerful color, a challenge to the extended winter doldrums — yellow is the color of sunflowers and bumblebees, golden leaves and sunshine, and the warm golden glow of a summer campfire.  Mother Nature apparently has not yet received the news that Spring was supposed to have sprung last month!

Ciao! ~ Kat B.

This post was in response to the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge.  ”Color” was this week’s theme.  Everyone is welcome to join in the Challenge; further details on how to participate and links to others’ responses are found here.

  1. Oh the color in your post! It is so beautiful. So utterly utterly beautiful and it would be wonderful if it would come this way. (Another snowstorm today…)

  2. Thus is such a sunny, warm and cheerful collection. It made me feel a little brighter despite the lingering winter gloom. Sunflowers are one of my favourites 🙂

  3. fun photos!! yes, spring is late this year isn’t it? down here in the twin cities our big piles of snow are mostly gone!! weird not to have to crane my neck to ensure no cars are coming before turning off my street. hopefully it will be warmer up north for you soon!!

  4. Not really spring here yet either – it will go from really cold to really hot in the space of three days when it finally does arrive…. Love your sunny pix!

  5. Beautiful response to the challenge, Kat. Aren’t goldfinches pretty little things? Love how bright their plumage becomes as Summer progresses.
