Weekly Photo Challenge: One Shot, Two Ways

Returning to the Glensheen Arts and Crafts Festival, which was the subject of one of my first blog posts, seemed appropriate as this little blog celebrates its first anniversary! Glensheen is situated on a stunning piece of property on Lake Superior, so as we wandered through the artists’ booths, we made time for a detour down to the water.

No matter how old my boys get, I suspect Lake Superior’s rocky shoreline will always invite a rock-skipping competition.

Thank you to all of you who follow my blog, who take the time to like or comment, and who help make this blogging community a pleasure in which to participate.  I look forward to year two, and hope that you will continue to share your insights and creativity.  It is time well spent.

  1. Happy Anniversary! Yes, I guess we did start at just about the same time – what a great quote you chose. And I like the photos, too – my boy, who’s probably a bit older, is in my post too. I like seeing yours skipping stones – it’s good to see strong young men/boys doing pleasurable, outdoors, guy things! (Not that we wouldn’t skip stones too!)

      • Good luck with that one, Kat! A senior in HS is way more challenging than any of our blogs…I think our work just gives us a new perspective as we go through everything else. So glad we’ve connected too:)

  3. I really like the second image. The point of view, the selective focus, the frame, everythink; it looks like they have a lot of work (play) to do! Nice post

    • The boys in college years may be a little less wordly in travel! — but it’s amazing how blogging encourages us to really take a look at the seemingly mundane and find something special in it. Thanks, John — always look forward to your comments!
