Life is a blur . . . but at least I feel like I am running forward, as opposed to churning endlessly on the treadmill!
So, what better time to join NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) and post daily for the month of November (remember, even brief posts count toward this effort!). It is a great opportunity to get back into the groove of blogging and rediscover that creative outlet, even as the candle burns to a nub on both ends!
(And, here’s a shout out for every family living with a high school senior right now, who is struggling with the glitches of the online college application systems – nothing like adding a little extra stress to that college-bound kid who already is trying to keep many balls in the air this time of year!)

John, my fear will be a string of hastily written posts, and my fellow bloggers’ going “oh no, it’s her again” as I pop up daily in their feed! But, after somewhat of a dry spell of blogging, with the days too full, decided to try and set aside a little time daily (some days very little!) to exorcise that hidden corner of creativity and try to keep the juices flowing! We’ll see what the month brings . . .

Good luck with NaBlogPoMo (mouthfull!). My oldest started college (we call it University) this Autumn. We miss him so much 😦 Good luck with the process. I don’t think ours is any easier!

A bitterweet parting, I am sure — as you are excited for them to launch and pursue their dreams, it is sad to see them go (just as they were becoming enjoyable and interesting adults, ha!)

Good luck with the daily posts. I’ve never heard of this — but I did hear of NaNoWriMo, where people can write a novel in a month. I thought of doing this, but realistically speaking . . . not very practical yet. Looking forward to hearing about your November! Cheers!

I don’t envy you the college senior stuff. But, be assured it doesn’t always get better. We had two daughters do the college thing, no problem. This third daughter is doing it, gets better everyday, now when it is time to sign up for second semester, they say she has to wait until the students who took more credits have signed up. Hello, the guy who did her first registration wouldn’t let her go over 15 credits, and when I suggested she do the college choir as an activity, he put her in music appreciation. Not sure he knew what was happening. Anyway, from past posts, it sounds like your son has lots of options, good luck in choosing. Like all things, have him follow his gut. What “feels” right will make him the happiest. Good luck on the blog thing. I am doing that National Novel Writing thing, so I suspect one is enough for my poor brain.

I am a big believer in the right “fit” as well — will be interesting to see where he ends up as he evaluates that over the next few months! Hoping your daughter’s college experience goes a little more smoothly the next round of registration.
