Perhaps I have Maui on my mind given my post earlier this week, but when I saw this week’s photo challenge theme (“Green”), the bamboo forest along the Pipiwai Trail in Haleakala National Park immediately came to mind. The Pipiwai Trail had plenty of other “green” images to fill out the rest of the gallery.
If only I could post the haunting sounds the bamboo made as they moved in the breeze, like hundreds of melodic wind chimes in a zen garden, then my post would be complete!

I had never seen bamboo of that magnitude — it was a somewhat haunting yet peaceful sound as we walked. For much of the time we had that section of the hike to ourselves, and could fully enjoy the experience. Thank you, Sid ~ Kat
