Returning to another great road trip memory for this week’s challenge: my son standing on top of a sand dune at Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve in Colorado.

We used to live just an hour and a half north of the dunes and only visited twice 😦 Very unique to see the sand rise out of the middle of nowhere with snow capped mountains in the background.

I can give you a list of sights within an hour of my doorstep that I have not visited in the 20 years I have lived here. So it goes with travel destinations in our own backyard.
