Aurora looked into the mirror and liked what she saw, dancing and shimmering along the horizon, with shades of purple and green, as the stars twinkled in appreciation of the sight. Friday night at the cabin on a little lake in the Minnesota northwoods was special, indeed.

I see an impending alien invasion, when I look at this photo. I like your description of a dancing woman though. Either way, its a beautiful sight to behold.

Thank you, Vinny. The Aurora are similar to clouds – a form of art and subject to individual appreciation and interpretation!

The first time I saw them as a child I was sure they were signs from God. Sadly we no longer see them in our area in South Dakota. Beautiful picture.

They are other-worldly and awe-inspiring . Unless you have seen them it is so difficult to describe how truly inspiring a sight they are! Thanks for commenting, Lucinda.

Awe inspiring is such an apt description – you really do get goosebumps taking in the sight as they wax and wane in the sky! I am fortunate to have had multiple opportunities now to experience the Aurora.

Have always hoped to time a visit to the cabin when they were out – the stars aligned Friday night, the only cloud-free night of the weekend! The dock faves north, providing the perfect viewing and tripod spot for Aurora-watching! Truly magical every time you see them! I hope you get to see them soon, Tina!
