Just one of the many photos I took yesterday while hiking and taking in the spectacular hues of the northern Minnesota landscape. This solitary maple leaf, gently cradled in a bed of spiky groundcover, seemed to bleed red from its veins, so saturated it was with the changing colors of the season.
Ciao! ~ Kat
This post was in response to the Daily Post’s Weekly Photo Challenge. ”Saturated” was this week’s theme. Everyone is welcome to join in the Challenge; further details on how to participate and links to others’ responses are found here.
Now that’s a leaf going out in style, Kat. Mid Michigan is starting to see the first of the leaves changing color – and I think this is my favorite time of year. Hope all is well in MN!

Fall is my favorite season, too — always never long enough before the snow flies, though! Just love the details of the changing season.

Along the big Lake they are just starting — really should be pretty in the next week or two. But inland up the Shore is just gorgeous!

You’ve got to love those red leaves at this time of year! I would have never thought of “saturated” describing them, but will from now on.

With the wet, windy weather we’ve had in recent days, saturated has a whole new meaning this weekend!
