My muse for the “rule of thirds” photo challenge … while enjoying a winter hike on Ellingson Island at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park.
Blue skies, warm sun …. even 15°F (-9°C) feels warm after a stretch of sub-zero days! With another round of brutally cold wind chills and temperatures settling in this evening, a few hours outdoors was just what the spirit needed.

When it has been sub-zero for days in a row, amazing how double digit temperatures are a delight! Thanks, Tina — Corbin is a handsome guy!

I know what you mean about relative warmth. It got into the 20’s (F) yesterday and we felt as if it were almost summer. It’s good for the soul as well as the body to get out for a walk/hike, especially with such a magnificent companion.

Thank you, derrycats — as we sat on the ice-covered rocks and enjoyed the view of the lighthouse, the sun reflected off his sleek coat so beautifully!
